A young Floridian boy fearlessly dashed into a roaring inferno to save his four younger siblings on Sunday morning around 2 a.m. According to the boy’s Aunt, Justin Allen, 12, dashed back inside his burning house without a thought for his own safety.
“He told me, ‘I don’t want to be famous, I just wanted to save my family,’” said Allen’s aunt, Cri Jackson. “He doesn’t even realize what he’s done…He’s a hero.”
According to the Daily News, Allen ran back into the burning house several times to rescue his three younger brothers, his 3-year-old sister and the family pets. Jackson told the News that Allen made a total of three trips back inside the collapsing home while the fire raged around him.
It is unclear what started the fire at this time, though its possible that candles lit by Jackson played some role. A storm knocked out the power in the area Saturday night, so Jackson and Allen were using the candles for light inside the house.
The Fire Department told the Daily News that it could be a few days before they can determine the cause of the blaze.
