'Glee' co-creator Ryan Murphy recently responded to actress Anne Hathaway's pleas to guest star on the popular Fox musical series.
At the Emmys, Murphy told MTV News: "I'm meeting with Anne in the next couple weeks. We're not going to do guest stars at all the first half of the season, but I would love to work with her. She supposedly has the whole thing mapped out. I'm curious as to what she wants to do. I love her. I think she's great."
That said, there has been guest star talk before. Hathaway and Murphy had a meeting back at the Golden Globes where the two discussed a guest gig. Hathaway told PopSugar.com: "Ryan Murphy goes, 'Anne Hathaway! Come on 'Glee.' And I said, 'Yes!' and he said 'Fab, I'll call you.'"
After their encounter, Murphy told E! Online that Hathaway's guest role was a done deal: "She created her own character, and we ran into her, and I said 'Really?' and she said 'Yes!' so we're going to do that. We love her."
Hathaway wants to play Kurt's (Chris Colfer) aunt, but in August 2011 said she had yet to hear from the prolific TV creator. "Ryan Murphy, I'm calling you out: I want to be on 'Glee.' I've got my songs picked out," Hathaway said.
