With 1,058 players, the PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham £500 main event broke the record for the largest number of entrants in a poker tournament on UK soil, all while creating a £529,000 prize pool.
After making the final table of the May 2010 UKIPT Nottingham main event and finishing eighth, Walker made good at popular the Dusk Till Dawn poker club this time around, hoisting the trophy and collecting the £109,000 first-place prize.
Three-handed, Italian Romano Pizzo had two-thirds of the chips in play with Walker sitting a distant third.
But after cracking UK PokerStars qualifier Brett Angell's aces and doubling through Pizzo, Walker took a stranglehold on the title.
Pizzo busted third and heads-up with Angell was a back-and-forth affair that ended when Walker shoved 9♣ 6♣ and managed to make a flush to beat Angell’s pocket tens.
Next up on the UK and Ireland Poker Tour is a stop in Manchester March 10-14.
