Video: Zombie 'Theme Park' Planned for Detroit

Entrepreneur Mark Siwak wants to create live-action zombie terror theme park called 'Z World' on Detroit's abandoned streets and buildings.

The idea is customers would pay to be chased by actors and try to seek shelter in abandoned homes, factories and businesses.

Siwak has raised $2,200 of the $140,000 needed through the crowdsourcing fundraising website

Siwak told CBS Detroit that the zombie park would breathe fresh life into rundown Detroit: "The city can only have so many urban farms or similar uses for vacant plots."

"While zombies are great, the real neat thing about this project is the potential to inject some life into a forgotten neighborhood, with the opportunity to work with neighborhood groups and organization."

The zombie park would be similar to Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse, where customers use paint ball guns to fight zombies at an abandoned truck stop.

Critics say the proposed park is an "exploitative and insensitive ploy" to profit from Detroit's problems.
