I’ve been waiting for this since we told you about the film during Sundance back in January. We have finally have a trailer for The Words with Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Irons, Zoe Saldana and Olivia Wilde. What a cast. And it’s got a great premise:
Rory Jansen finally achieves long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel. There's only one catch – he didn't write it. As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man's work, and for placing ambition and success above life's most fundamental three words.
The Words revolves around Rory (Cooper), a struggling writer who claims another man’s long lost work as his own. Caught up in a dangerous conspiracy, the price he must pay is more than he could have ever imagined.
The trouble starts when Dora, Rory’s wife (Saldana) comes across “a valise” in an antiques shop. The valise contains a “lost masterwork” of a “Hemingway-esque writer” played by Jeremy Irons.
A story within a story, this first trailer hints at a drama with some heft to it, something that will utilize the potential Bradley Cooper showed in Limitless.
The Words is both written and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal. The supporting cast includes Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons, Michael McKean, Zeljko Ivanek and Ron Rifkin. We now have a US release date of September 21. Still no word on the UK.
