Video: Movie Trailer for 'Trance' Starring James McAvoy

We just had our first official looks at Danny Boyle’s latest, Trance with James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel a couple of weeks ago. Today, not only do we have a few more images, but more importantly, the first trailer!

I’ve been intrigued by this one since way back when it was announced that Michael Fassbender and Andrea Riseborough were to take the roles now occupied by Cassel and Dawson. Interesting changes to be sure. We all know how I feel about Fassbender but I’m also a fan of Cassel and he looks to have been more than up for the job. The plot concerns a painting stolen by McAvoy but after he’s hit in the head, he can’t remember where he put it. Enter Dawson’s hypnotist, working for Cassel, who tries to get him to remember.

Academy Award® winning director Danny Boyle returns to the big screen with this psychological thriller about a fine art auctioneer, mixed up with a criminal gang, who join forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. TRANCE stars James McAvoy (Atonement, X-Men First Class), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Mesrine) and Rosario Dawson (Seven Pounds, Sin City).

McAvoy’s turning into something of an action hero, with a string of films that started with Wantedand continue through this year’s Welcome to the Punch and now Trance. Not of the Statham variety certainly, but more cerebral. Anyway, it’s Danny Boyle. I’m in. Trance will be released in the UK on 27th March. No US date yet.
