A couple of weeks ago we brought you two “creepy cool posters” for Sinister, a film we first talked about when it played Sundance back in January. And now we have a creepy cool trailer to go with them. (Emphasis on the creepy.)
Ethan Hawke is ‘Ellison’, a true crime novelist struggling to find his next big story. He moves his family into a house where the horrific murder of another entire family took place. But after finding a box of home videos in which other families are also brutally murdered, his investigation leads him to a supernatural entity that may be placing his own family in harm’s way.
Don’t watch this right before you turn the lights out tonight.
How’s this for a segue: Ethan Hawke will be seen starting tomorrow in Woman in the Fifth with Kristin Scott Thomas in which Hawke plays Tom Ricks, a divorced American writer who hides out in a hotel room to pen his latest work. (Much like Hawke himself after his public divorce from Uma Thurman.) We have a clip that will hopefully soothe your nerves after that trailer:
Hawke also appears in Total Recall which opens August 3, plus he has four other films coming out either this year or next, including the next film for Richard Linklater (Bernie) and another film with his Before Sunrise and Before Sunset costar Julie Delpy. Sinister also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, James Ransone and Fred Dalton Thompson. It’s scheduled for August 24 in both the US and the UK.
