Video: Movie Trailer for 'Oblivion' Starring Tom Cruise

Am I losing it or does this sci-fi thriller called simply, Oblivion,  starring one of the hardest working men in showbiz, Tom Cruise, look pretty damn good? I think it'll eventually hinge on the writing, but from what we see in this first trailer, the visual effects are good and Cruise is surrounded by a great cast. I'm glad we finally have a trailer for this since, despite the fact that we showed you set pics over the summer, I've been mixing it up in my head with All You Need is Kill  for months.

“On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.”

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (and based on his graphic novel), Oblivion also stars Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, Morgan Freeman,  Zoe Bell, Melissa Leo and Andrea Riseborough.  The music will be provided by M.8.3 and Daft Punk.

Oblivion will be released 12th April 2013 in the UK and April 13 US IMAX and April 19 for the rest of the US.
