Relativity Media, purveyors of Movie 43, are bringing us another outrageous comedy full of bad behavior, alcohol and collegiate humor, called 21 & Over, despite the fact that it will appeal most to those 21 and under. (I’m thinking Relativity has found its niche.)
Given the success of The Hangover and it’s dreadful yet profitable sequel (yes, they are making a 3rd) plus this year’s Project X, which made $100m on a $12.5m budget, this is the shape of things to come my friends.
“Straight-A college student Jeff Chang (Justin Chon) has always done what’s expected of him. But when his two best friends Casey and Miller (Miles Teller, Skylar Astin) surprise him with a visit for his 21st birthday, he decides to do the unexpected for a change, even though his critical medical school interview is early the next morning. What was supposed to be one beer becomes one night of chaos, over indulgence and utter debauchery in this outrageous comedy.”
Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, co-writers of The Hangover are making their co-directorial debuts from their own co-written script with 21 & Over. It’s due for US release on March 1, with no planned UK dates yet, but I doubt they’ll get away unscathed.
Here’s the first trailer. You tell me – funny or not?
