LeAnn Rimes recently appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (video below) to discuss her affair and marriage to Eddie Cibrian, her step-sons, and the rumors about a possible eating disorder.
Rimes said there were lots of lies in the media about her and now-husband Eddie Cibrian but they kept quiet to protect his children.
LeAnn said, “You have to really take the high road a lot of the time when you want to stand on a mountain and scream like, ‘Why are you saying this?’” said Rimes.
“We’ve always put his kids first. We took the kids into consideration with everything that we do. Sometimes you just want to scream. But you don’t. We’ve learned to let it go and laugh at it, at the end of the day. It happens.”
But the country singer admits she and Eddie could have handled the whole relationship better from the start. Perhaps waiting until they were both divorced would have been a good idea.
Rimes said, “I will always say, it could’ve been handled a lot better. But maybe we both didn’t have the tools at the time to do it properly. But I’ve learned a lot… Obviously we all make choices that lead us into a different path, here and there, and you learn from those or you don’t. We made decisions that were not necessarily the right ones… but it obviously brought us to the place where we are now. And we’re happy, and we’re married…”
The singer adds, “I think we have both come to a really good place in our lives. And right now, I’m really at peace.”
Ellen then touched on the rumors that LeAnn has an eating disorder, which she denied.
LeAnn refers to the media as bullies, stating, “[The media has been] irresponsible calling a lot of people fat or anorexic or bulimic or whatever it may be. It seems like bullying now instead of really taking these diseases seriously that a lot of people are going through,” said Rimes.
Rimes also recently spoke to Country Weekly Magazine saying she wants to have a child with Cibrian, stating, “[I'm] enjoying every minute… [my stepsons] are awesome. And it does make me want to have a child eventually. I enjoy being a stepmom and I’d really love to have a child of our own, but we’ll see.”
