Video: 'Family Guy' Characters High-Five 9/11

Last night's episode of 'Family Guy' may have crossed the line. Many viewers were furious when the cartoon made light of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

In one scene, evil genius baby Stewie and his pooch Brian are shown high-fiving each other after making sure the terrorist attacks took place again following their meddling with history (video below).

In the episode called 'Road to the Pilot', Stewie and Brian travel back in time. While in the past, Brian tips off his past self about 9/11 so he can play hero and stop the terrorist attacks. But this deed accidentally starts a chain of events that leads to a nuclear apocalypse started by former President George W Bush.

So the two are forced to go back in time to make sure 9/11 takes place. When they arrive back in the present, the duo celebrate and high-five each other when they realize September 11th did happen.

The subject matter is bizarre considering the fact that the show's creator Seth MacFarlane missed American Airlines Flight 11 by ten minutes. Fox's multimillionaire creator-producer was delayed in reaching Boston airport because of a hangover, and his travel agent giving him a late departure time by accident.

"I missed it by 10 minutes," he said of the flight. "It was very, very fortunate. The only reason it hasn't really affected me as it maybe could have is I didn't really know that I was in any danger until after it was over, so I never had that panic moment."

"After the fact, it was sobering, but people have a lot of close calls; you're crossing the street and you almost get hit by a car... this one just happened to be related to something massive. I really can't let it affect me because I'm a comedy writer. I have to put that in the back of my head."
