Former California Governor and action star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently showed off his tank to journalists by crushing an old car (video below).
Schwarzenegger said the M47 Patton tank is "exactly the very tank that I drove in the Austrian Army when I was 18 years old."
In Austria, Schwarzenegger was required to serve at least a year in the military, reports Yahoo News.
Schwarzenegger said: "I learned how to drive the tank, which was always my fascination, I think, because I grew up after the war, and I saw the British troops that occupied our area. So I always wanted to be a tank driver."
Schwarzenegger recalled how he kept his workout weights in a side compartment of the tank so that he could train every night.
A few months after leaving the military, Schwarzenegger competed in his first Mr. Universe competition in 1966.
Schwarzenegger bought the tank in 1992 and brought it to America as part of a Planet Hollywood restaurant in Las Vegas.
Schwarzenegger ended up keeping the tank at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio, outside of Los Angeles.
