Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise - who played the fictional filmmaker Les Grossman in the 2008 comedy movie "Tropic Thunder," and donned the character’s fat suit and bald head to entertain the audience at the MTV Movie Awards – wants Grossman to get his own solo big-screen outing.
Speaking backstage at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, Tom said: “We’re working on it. Yup, we’re working on it.” The 47-year-old actor won mass acclaim for his comedic turn in "Tropic Thunder", which also starred Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black and Ben Stiller – who also directed the movie. Tom’s recent turn as Les at the MTV Movie Awards included him performing a hip-hop dance routine with Jennifer Lopez, as well as doing a sketch with "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. He said of the sketch: “It was a lot of fun – it was great. It was a blast!”
As well as the possibility of bringing Les back to the big screen, Tom is also set to reprise his famous role as Ethan Hunt in "Mission: Impossible IV" – which is set for a 2011 release with Brad Bird directing. Tom can also be seen in action/comedy "Knight and Day" alongside Cameron Diaz this summer.
