Ted Williams, the man with the “golden-voice” is done with rehab.
Less than two weeks after checking in to the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas for drug and alcohol dependency, Williams has bolted – against medical advice, reports TMZ.
Williams, the homeless man who was plucked from obscurity after a YouTube video featuring his dulcet tones went viral, had entered the facility to kick a 25-year alcohol addiction problem.
TV personality Dr. Phil convinced Williams to seek treatment after he appearing on his show.
“If Ted is ever going to get better, he’s got to be honest with himself and admit he’s addicted to drugs and alcohol,” said Dr.Phil.
“I’ve told him it’s not going to be easy and it’s going to take a lot of hard work. It might be a long journey for him, but this is a big step in the right direction.”
TMZ reports that Williams was last seen heading for the airport.
Not the warm and fuzzy ending were were all hoping for.
