The 50th anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue was finally revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday night, featuring not one but three cover models.
People Magazine reported that a trio hasn’t appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated since 1994.
The cover features Chrissy Teigen, Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal with Sports Illustrated naming it “the happiest cover in swimsuit history”. The magazine’s theme is “Past, Present and Future.”
Teigen made her debut as a model in 2010 as “Rookie of the Year”. Agdal followed two years later, and Aldridge made her first appearance this year.
Being featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated commonly boosts a model’s career, and the magazine has a reputation for empowering the women who appear on its cover. In the past, Teigen has praised the magazine for its minimal use of Photoshop.
The models join a long list of beautiful and successful women who have graced the cover, including Christie Brinkley and Tyra Banks.
