Heidi Montag reportedly stood by Spencer on what he considers the “wildest day ever of either of our lives,” and hopes she will drop the divorce filing.
“It was clear we’re soulmates. I don’t see any reason we can’t get back on track,” Spencer stated.
The police in San Jose, Costa Rica, said Heidi and Spencer were briefly detained at the airport for illegal arms possession after security officers found two unloaded handguns in their luggage. Pratt and Montag hadn’t declared the weapons and didn’t have permits to have them in Costa Rica.
They were questioned and released.
Heidi and Spencer met while on MTV’s reality series “The Hills” and their wedding was even filmed for the show in April 2009. Heidi, 23, filed for divorce in July.
But did Heidi have a change of heart?
“As far as I’m concerned the last thing in the world after everything we have just been through is to go through with this divorce,” Montag said in a text message. “But we are just taking life second by second.”
Pratt, 27, said he went on a jungle retreat in Costa Rica for self-improvement and to convince his estranged wife he could give up fame.
Spencer brought the 9MM and 45MM handguns and ammo with him as protection and traveled by private jet to and from Costa Rica with the guns locked in his luggage.
“I wouldn’t have gone on a commercial flight” with weapons, he said. “I wouldn’t be that reckless.”
Pratt and Montag went on a fundraising walk for cancer last weekend.
Heidi’s 24th birthday is on Wednesday and Pratt said he hopes to “sweep her off her feet” on her special day.
