Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has an appearance on Wednesday’s Oprah Winfrey Show.
In a tell-all interview with Winfrey, she reveals her feelings about not being invited to ‘the wedding’.
Remember the Duchess was told to make like a genie and disappear. Make yourself scarce, dahling, and go away, hide somewhere, anywhere but here.
Disappear she did. To Thailand. “I was not invited,” Ferguson, 51, said. “I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia…the jungle embraced me.” She explained that being snubbed wasn’t easy. The snub “was so difficult,” she said. “Because I wanted to be there with my girls … to be getting them dressed and to go as a family.”
She also could have given Beatrice, 22, and Eugenie, 21, some much needed fascinator advice. Who could forget these.
Instead, she watched the proceedings from afar in Thailand. Reminiscing no doubt that the last royal wedding to take place at Westminster Abbey was her own.
Berating her actions she continued: “I went through the phase of feeling so totally worthless and that [it] was quite right they didn’t invite me. Why would they – why would they invite me?”
Regarding her gaffes, Ferguson explained: “I felt that I ostracised myself by my behaviour, by the past, by living with all the regrets of my mistakes, that I sort of wore a hair shirt and beat myself up most of the day thinking and regretting why did I make such a mistake? Why have I made so many mistakes?”
These answers and more may be revealed in her new OWN network TV show, Finding Sarah, coming to a television set near you in June.
