Sandra Bullock says that she was so devastated by her marriage split that she considered never acting again.
Bullock said she was "permanently broken" after discovering her serial cheater husband Jesse James had been cheating on her.
Bullock found out James had an affair with tattoo model Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee just days after she picked up the Best Actress Oscar in 2010 for 'The Blind Side.'
"I was perfectly content to be permanently broken," Bullock said of the 2010 marriage split with James, who has since cheated on McGee. "I honestly didn't think I was in a place where I wanted to work or wanted to step out of where I was. I wasn't prepared."
Bullock said she was persuaded to return to acting by director Stephen Daldry who wanted her to appear opposite Tom Hanks in the drama' Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.'
Hanks plays a victim of the September 11th terror attack on the Twin Towers in New York with Bullock his grief stricken wife.
"So we had a great time. It's no longer 'selfish actress' in the moment," Bullock said.
"I wanted to have an amazing time with him and, fortunately, Mr. Daldry presented it. In every possible way, it was the best!"
