Russell Armstrong, estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead in Los Angeles, California of an apparent suicide.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department found the 47-year-old hanging in his house on Mulholland Drive after a friend called 911. Armstrong was pronounced dead at 8:16 p.m. on Monday.
One month ago, Taylor filed divorce papers to end their six-year marriage. She also revealed to People the years of verbal and physical abuse from her husband, "I'm mad at myself for tolerating things I should not have tolerated from the first moment. Allowing this to happen in my own relationship was something I felt very ashamed of."
Russell admitted to People that he may have gotten physical at times, but seem to blame the reality series. "Did I push her? Yes, maybe things happened in the heat of the moment, but it was during a time in our lives that were not characteristic of who we were. This show has literally pushed us to the limit.”
The couple's troubles were documented during the last season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Russell was often too busy to spend time with Taylor, who cried about her marriage to cast members. In May, they entered couples' counseling, but denied they were splitting up.
