Talent judge and former tabloid editor Piers Morgan has got married to longtime girlfriend Celia Walden.
The America’s Got Talent star exchanged vows with gossip columnist Walden during a ceremony in London on Thursday, according to reports.
They’ve been dating for four years. Morgan proposed in 2009.
Morgan’s fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden tweeted the happy news today:
“Piers got married today!! I could not be happier for my lovely friend!
“Celia his wife is fabulous! Big party for us lot very soon.”
Congratulations to them both!
And there’s even more happy news for Morgan. The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) has rejected a complaint by Heather Mills over claims he made about her in his Mail On Sunday column.
Morgan said that to his “eternal shame” he had introduced Mills to Sir Paul McCartney at the Pride Of Britain Awards in 1999.
Mills refuted the claim and also complained when Morgan had described her as being the writer of “nothing but bleating letters of complaint to newspapers and divorce lawyers”. She told the PCC she had, in fact, “written at least three books and is currently working on another”.
The PCC rejected the complaint. Mills hobbled off to eat humble pie. The end. For now.
