Jessica Simpson’s father, Joe Simpson, has offered his congratulations to his daughter on her engagement to Eric Johnson. But sources say Joe is worried Jess won’t want a prenup again in this marriage.
Joe Simpson, Jessica’s dad and manager, tweeted his congratulations on his daughter’s engagement on Sunday, writing, “So very happy for Jess and Eric. May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness.”
Joe may be thrilled for his daughter but is concerned she might be against getting a prenup. Jess didn’t want a prenup when she was married to Nick Lachey, and it ended up costing her $10 million when they divorced.
“At the moment, Joe is sitting back and being a great father, supporting his daughter and his future son-in-law,” a source revealed. “However, you can bet after all the excitement has died down, Joe is going to do everything in his power to make sure Jessica doesn’t walk down the aisle until Eric signs away any right he might have to Jessica’s enormous fortune.”
Jessica has made public appearances recently wearing her engagement ring, which is a three-stone ring that features a central ruby flanked by two diamonds.
