New Bond Film 'Skyfall' Will Feature New Bond Girl

Sony Pictures announced a new James Bond movie, 'Skyfall,' is going into production. The film has been rumored and delayed for years due to financial programs at United Artists/MGM, which owns the rights to Bond, but apparently Sony has taken the reins.

At a press conference in London, Daniel Craig, and Judi Dench, director Sam Mendes and Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem were on hand to chat about the thriller.

The new Bond Girl will beplayed by Bérénice Marlohe, a French model, who has never appeared in an English-speaking movie before. Her character is named 'Severin.' She is pictured on the left with Daniel Craig at the press conference

The film as a  $230 million budget and features this plo: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

There were also news items on the Bond Twitter account @007:

"The title of Bond 23 will be....Skyfall." That's the first one-word Bond title since "GoldenEye," a forgettable Bond film known mostly for an awesome Nintendo 64 game.

"Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Albert Finney will all be joining the Skyfall cast."

"Javier Bardem will play Skyfall's villain."

"Director Sam Mendes says Skyfall "is its own story. It doesn't connect with the last two movies."
