Naomi Watts is about to bring the late Princess Diana back to life in the upcoming biopic Caught in Flight.
Princess Diana died in 1997 at the age of 36 in a Paris car crasSpeaking of the role Naomi said, “It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role. Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.”
The movie is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, best known for his film about Hitler’s last days, “Downfall.” The screenplay is by Stephen Jeffreys, who penned “The Libertine”.
Another Princess Diana biopic from producer Stephen Evans is reportedly in the works, with Charlize Theron or Carey Mulligan competing for the lead role.
Production for Caught in Flight is scheduled to begin shooting later this year.
