On Tuesday night in Dublin, California, east of San Francisco, a cannonball accident occurred during the filming of an episode of the show 'Mythbusters,' reports San Francisco CBS affiliate KPIX.
The reality series, which aims to debunk urban myths, is produced by the Discovery Channel.
KPIX reports that a cannonball went straight through a home, right below the window. It also hit a car in the process. The cannonball was fired as part of a stunt. According to police, no one was hurt in the accident.
After 8 years on the air, the mishap was the Discovery Channel’s hit series first public accident during filming.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. on December 6, near the Alameda County bomb range. According to ScreenRant, the cannonball was supposed to pass through several barrels of water and a cinder block wall, in order to slow the projectile down. Upon misfiring, the cannon lifted and hit something that caused it to shoot over the protective hillside that surrounds the bomb range.
