Country Singer Glen Campbell Has Alzheimer's Disease

Holy Moly is very sad to hear the news that music legend Glen Campbell has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. While he’d already announced that his next album and tour would be his last, he hadn’t revealed why until now.

Speaking to People magazine about his upcoming tour (which hits the UK in October), wife Kim said: "Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer. But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn’t want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?' "

Campbell was diagnosed with the condition six months ago, after suffering short-term memory loss.

It’s an over-used phrase, but Glen Campbell really could sing the phone book and make it sound so beautiful it’d melt your spine to hot honey. Last time he played in London we balled our eyes out at Wichita Lineman. God only knows what kind of state we’ll be in next time.
