MSNBC host Touré tried to school his viewers in a simple geography lesson, but instead wound up being the one getting schooled.
The host’s hilarious mistake came Monday after he incorrectly placed Kenya on a map while reporting about the mall-shooting massacre that happened in Nairobi last week. The mistake wouldn’t have been such a big deal if he hadn’t been attempting to offer a “geography refresher” to his audience.
“Here’s your Monday geography refresher,” quipped Touré. “Kenya is located on the northern coast of Africa, right next door to Somalia.”
Touré was correct in saying that Kenya is right next door to Somalia, but he was wrong in placing the country on the northern coast of Africa. Kenya is in fact on the eastern coast, closer to the southern end of the continent.
Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski tweeted about the mistake, calling out Touré by simply posting a map of Africa, with Kenya highlighted, beneath the quote from Touré.

It looks like Touré is the one who needs a geography refresher. Take a look at his geography fail below.
