Celebrity fashion photographer Terry Richardson allegedly offered a Vogue photo shoot to English model Emma Appleton for sex. Appleton published the alleged proposition on her Instagram page and linked to it from her Twitter page earlier today.
Gawker reports that the screenshot of Richardson's text to Appleton read, "If I can f--- you I will book you in NY for a shoot for Vogue."
A representative for Richardson told Buzzfeed.com, "This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text."
US Vogue Director of Communications Hildy Kuryk stated, "The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future."
The Instagram page with the screenshot has been deleted, as has Appleton's Twitter account.
Appleton told Buzzfeed.com that her screenshot of Richardson's text is real, but she deleted it to avoid “abuse or attention.”
According to Buzzfeed.com, former model Charlotte Waters accused Richardson of unwanted sexual advances earlier this year. Similar accusations against Richardson were made by models Jamie Peck, Liskula Cohen, and Rie Rasmussen.
The Gothamist reports that Appleton also tweeted:
I just said um no I'm not your girl, bye ha
This industry is f——- up
I've been modeling for 5 years and I've never had this before, it doesn't make it okay
Beginning to wish I hadn't posted that...it doesn't matter who you are or the what the industry is, just be a decent human being
The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f——— mind. See ya
