Michael Jackson's Children Going to School for First Time

One year on, Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has given what’s claimed to be her first interview since the singer’s death.

The family matriarch chose to speak to Britain’s Mirror (go figure) and revealed what life is like for her grandchildren, and what the future has in store for them.

Katherine is quoted as saying that Jackson’s children – Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8 – are set to attend school for the first time in September.

“They don’t have any friends. They don’t go to school, they have private lessons at home,” she told the Mirror. “They’ll be going to a private school in September for the first time.”

Katherine was given legal guardianship of the kids after Jackson’s death on June 25.

She added: “To them, it’s normal, it’s the life they have known. They have a certain time to go to bed, then they get up and get dressed for lessons. They practice karate and swim, which they love.”

She also described how Paris is missing her father.

“I wanted to hang pictures of flowers or ballerinas in Paris’s room, the sort of things I expected a girl would like.

“But she went into a closet and she brought out seven or eight pictures of Michael, and she told me, ‘No, I want daddy hanging in my room’. So she goes to bed looking at him and wakes up looking at him. She said, ‘I always want to be able to see him’.

“Paris has that lovely way, just like him, and I see his talent in her. Whatever she does, she is very good at it. She’s a good artist, she plays the piano and she wants to be an actress.

Asked how she now feels about MJ’s death, she says: “Michael was so misunderstood. I treasure my memories of him and wanted to share them with his fans in my book.”

Ah yes, the book. Katherine’s reportedly about to release a book dedicated to MJ, entitled Never Can Say Goodbye: The Katherine Jackson Archives.

Sources tell us the book will be full of family photographs and personal anecdotes about each of them penned by Katherine.

Word is the book will hit shelves next week.
