Megyn Kelly Tears Lou Dobbs, Erick Erickson to Shreds Over Sexist Comments (Video)

Megyn Kelly, a host on the Fox News channel, recently showed host of ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ Lou Dobbs and RedState editor Erick Erickson that females are not as ‘submissive’ as the two men may have thought.

Responding first to Erickson’s comments on the changing nature of gender roles in the household, Kelly beats down his take that women who decide to work instead of staying at home are inhibiting the development of their children. Referencing recent studies describing women as the new primary providers at home, she says “what makes you dominant and me submissive, and who died and makes you scientist-in-chief?” Extensive data, she says, supports the fact that switching up traditional gender roles, like families that have a stay-at-home father, does not hinder the growth of their child in the least.

“You are denigrating the choices made by others,” Kelly says, calling Erickson out on his statement that the ‘nurturing mother’ should be the one who stays home. She pulls out study after study that reportedly prove him wrong.

Kelly then moves on to Dobbs, who at one point mocks her, calling her “oh, Dominant One.” Dobbs dodges Kelly’s questions into his thoughts on Erickson’s comments, instead talking about single-parent homes, a subject that Kelly says is entirely irrelevant to their conversation.

After snubbing Dobbs for avoiding personal reflection on the sort of mother-father balance he feels is necessary for maintaining a healthy family life, Kelly heads back to Erickson. This time, she compares his outdated theories of who should be ‘breadwinner’ to racial issues in the 50s and 60s, saying that, at one point, people opined that interracial marriages were damaging to a child’s wellbeing.

“Tell that to Obama,” she says.
