Lindsay Lohan is still acting, apparently. In between all of the legal problems and rehab stints, some (read: most) people have forgotten that the 26-year-old initially rose to fame not because of her nifty ability to drink and crash cars, but for playing mildly likable characters in movies.
On Tuesday night, Lohan appeared on “The Late Show With David Letterman” to plug her latest film, Scary Movie 5. It’s not clear how big of a role she had in the Charlie Sheen-centered production, given the fact that she doesn’t even appear on the poster, but apparently her mere presence is enough to qualify her as a co-star.
As you would expect, very little of Lohan’s discussion with Letterman revolved around Scary Movie 5. Most of their time together was dedicated to discussing what a trainwreck she had become in recent years.
“How long will you be in rehab?” Letterman asked, in regards to her next stint, not all of the ones that will inevitably follow. She replied: “Three months.”
“How many times have you been in rehab?” he followed up.
“Several,” she responded.
“And how will this time be different? What are they rehabbing, first of all? What is on their list? What are they going to work on when you walk through the door?” Letterman wondered.
“I’m the happiest when I’m working and the healthiest,” Lohan said. “And I think this an opportunity for me to, you know, focus on what I love in life. And I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I think it’s a blessing … and not a curse.”
