In her first public appearance since the death of Cory Monteith, Lea Michele dedicated a tearful speech to her boyfriend who died of an overdose last month.
Michele and Monteith starred on ‘Glee’ together and dated for a year prior to his passing.
"I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very past difficult few weeks," Michele said while accepting a Teen Choice Award.
"For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we're gonna get through this together,” she added. “He was very special to me and also to the world."
Monteith’s body was found a month ago tomorrow in Vancouver. Police later confirmed that he had died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol.
