The Kardashians have dominated entertainment news over the past few days, thanks to the wedding of Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West.
Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian (pictured) are scheduled to start filming their TV reality series in June in the wealthy, exclusive Hamptons, but residents of the New York town don't want them.
“They say they are renting 12 houses out here, mainly for their staff,” Southampton Village Administrator Stephen Funsch told CBS New York.
“The title of the show is ‘The Kardashians take the Hamptons,’ and the content of the shooting, is, they’re tell us that they’re just going to be following the family around, and film them in natural settings.”
However, the Kardashian sisters got free rental space on the famous Jobs Lane to set up one of their DASH clothing boutiques in exchange for featuring the owner's nearby restaurant on their reality show.
“They didn’t want to pay the $30,000 to $60,000 rent charged at most Hamptons stores,” a source told the New York Daily News. “So they agreed to shoot episodes of the show in the restaurant.”
Locals are concerned that the Kardashians and the paparazzi that follow them will ruin the serene communty with traffic problems and other Kardashian-related chaos.
