A week or so ago, Kanye West exploded on Twitter after seeing a parody Jimmy Kimmel did about him and the Kardashians.
The skit itself wasn’t particularly insulting or demeaning, especially compared to the other stuff that floats around cable TV and the internet.
Still, because Kanye is Kanye, he was offended. His memorable rant targeted Kimmel’s love life and professional accomplishments, but its highlight was undoubtedly a ‘No disrespect to Ben Affleck’ throwaway line that nobody quite understood.
On Wednesday night, for the first time since their confrontation, West and Kimmel squared off on the latter’s late night show. It was an awkward, cringeworthy interview from start to finish, just like everyone knew it would be.
“Jimmy does his thing, I do my thing, and at some point egos can flare up,” West admitted. “We kind of took it back to high school."
Kimmel was similarly apologetic.
"I really felt bad about all this stuff, I did,” he said.
