The Tudors star Jonathon Rhys Meyers has once again checked into rehab to seek treatment for alcohol addiction, according to a report.
According to The Mirror, the actor, who also starred in Bend It Like Beckham, spent 10 days in a clinic last month.
He is since believed to have left because of work commitments.
It is thought Rhys Meyers’ stay in the Capio Nightingale Hospital is his fourth attempt at rehab.
The Daily Mail is reporting he last sought help for his addiction in May last year, just days after allegedly screaming abuse at airport staff when they banned him from getting on a plane because he was drunk.
United Airlines staff barred him from boarding, which resulted in the actor allegedly launching a foul-mouthed tirade.
It’s believed to have been the final straw for his girlfriend, heiress Reena Hammer, who is said to have told him: “Check into rehab or I’m dumping you.” They’ve been dating since 2004.
Meyers was also previously arrested in 2007 at the Dublin Airport for being drunk and disturbing the peace, though the charges were later dropped.
He was detained by police again in June 2009 at Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris after allegedly assaulting an employee at a bar while drunk.
He’s been honest about his alcohol issues in the past, saying “when I do drink I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place like a 16-year-old kid.”
Speaking about getting treatment, he said: “You really feel like you’re f****** up and you’re useless.”
