Johnny Depp Wants to Hold Off on 5th "Pirates" Movie

Even before Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits cinemas later this month, screenwriter Terry Rossio tells The Hollywood Reporter he has already handed in his script for the fifth installment.

Though it still doesn’t have a title, producer Jerry Bruckheimer wants in on this latest installment and sources say Disney is trying to make music with Rob Marshall (who directed Pirates 4) to return for another round. But…the big IF is what does Johnny Depp want.

While not saying no to No.5, Depp told THR he is no hurry to commit – remembering the exhausting back to back schedule of Pirates 2 and 3. As Johnny said: “It boils down to story, script and filmmaker. It’s not something where I would say, ‘Let’s shoot it next month to get it out by Christmas 2012.’

He adds: “We should hold off for a bit. They should be special, just like they are special to me.”

Ah, you’ll always be special to me Johnny…
