Jennifer Hudson has reportedly signed on to be a judge on the next season of American Idol. Multiple sources confirmed to E! News that Hudson inked the deal.
After a record low ratings season, American Idol is looking to regain its viewership. It has been reported that Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj will all be replaced. Randy Jackson announced his departure from the show recently. Jackson also hopes that the focus will be put back on the contestants and not the judges.
"I’ve really always felt that people made too much of the judges, and not enough of the talent," Jackson told Good Morning America.
In addition to bringing Hudson on, Idol is also looking to recruit Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert or Clay Aiken.
"It's Idol alums bringing in the next generation," a Fox source told E! News.
