Funny how time changes a politician's views, isn't it? Not long ago, Sarah Palin was criticizing Hollywood something fierce, doncha know: "[Hollywood has] "a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands." This was in response to David Letterman's borderline cruel joke at her daughter Bristol's expense. Of course, that was only the tip of the Alaskan iceberg.
When you're as controversial as Sarah Palin and her family are, you have to expect comedians to spit roast you. You are a public figure, after all. Did "Family Guy" go too far with the retarded blind date woman that was "the daughter of a former Alaskan governor"? Maybe, but doesn't that also go with the territory? Writing on Facebook that Seth MacFarlane is a "heartless jerk" isn't going to win over the masses. Sorry. As just an aside, "Family Guy" airs on FOX, AKA "FOX HOLLYWOOD" to Palin, yet there's I suppose that other FOX that Palin herself contributes to. So much hypocrisy, so little time. Sigh.
What about her claim about Hollywood starlets "And here's how they do it: They use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets. They use Alaska as a fund-raising tool for their anti-Second Amendment causes," she said, adding "By the way, Hollywood needs to know: we eat -- therefore we hunt." Well played, Sarah. You made your point that those bastards in Hollywood are disgusting, gun-toting, twig-like, jerks!
So now, let's fast forward through the magic of Hollywood to present day: Bristol Palin is going to be a Hollywood actress...WHAT?! Yeah, it's true, the daughter who was ripped mercilessly by those evil, heartless Hollywood clowns, is going to star as herself in some type of cookie cutter ABC teen demographic drama. And yet, Mom Palin hasn't mentioned how damaging this could be for her daughter to be subjected to the ills of Hollywood. Hmmm, maybe when Hollywood is on your side, it's not all that bad, right Sarah?
