Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was arrested on an assault charge after a fan told the police the rapper smashed a bottle on his head.
ABC News reported that the victim, James Lettley, was “with a champagne bottle, causing a severe laceration to the top of his head.”
Lettley asked Gucci Mane’s bodyguard, “I’m in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, is it OK?”
The alleged crime took place in a nightclub in downtown Atlanta. Police records show Gucci Mane, whose real name Radric Davis, was placed in custody Wednesday for aggravated assault with a weapon.
Lettley told the police he was hit with the bottle at Harlem Nights Club on March 16.
