While news about the Fifty Shades of Grey castings are at a fever pitch, especially after last week, no confirmations have been made about who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
One person still very much in the running, as the news about Alex Pettyfer being cast as Grey has yet to be confirmed, is Stephen Amell. Amell spoke to Jay Leno about the role.
"I'm flattered if any movie role and my name are mentioned in the same sentence because there haven't been a ton of them," Amell said. "I'm still an actor that wants to work all the time."
Back in March, Amell posted on his Facebook page about the possibilty of playing Grey and caused an uproar he didn't expect.
"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time but that project is a long way off, I know this because I had a meeting about it a long way off but not that long but not close," Amell said on Facebook. "I wouldn't call it long but I wouldn't call it close."
Amell explained to Leno what that little posting on Facebook did.
"I had a meeting with the studio that is doing that movie, and we spoke about it," he said to Leno. "I anecdotally brought it up on my Facebook page, which I didn't realise was real news now! I've operated my page the same way when I had 200 friends, and now I have more than that. And all of a sudden it was this big news story."
