The Fifty Shades of Grey movie may not have its Christian Grey or Anastasia Steele, but it looks ike it may have its director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal and Focus, who paid $5 milion for the rights for the film, want Joe Wright to direct. Joe Wright is the director of many films including Anna Karenina, Hanna, Atonement, Pride & Prejudice and The Soloist.
Fifty Shades of Grey movie news has been greatly sought after, but fans have mostly been curious about the casting of the lead roles. However, if the reports are true and the movie has its director, they could be ready to move onto the next step of casting Grey and Steele. Kelly Marcel has already been brought on to adapt the screenplay and Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing.
Universal and Wright's reps at CAA declined to comment and The Hollywood Reporter's source cautioned that the deal has not been sealed.
