Those hoping that the next E.L. James book will be just as raunchy as the “Fifty Shades of Grey” books may be disappointed to hear that the author plans to make it much tamer.
“It won’t nearly be so raunchy,” James said. “And I will probably write it under another name.”
While she has been heard saying she is excited to bring new love stories to her readers, she said she is unlikely to write another book about Fifty Shades’ Ana Steele and Christian Grey.
“Never say never - but they’re on the back burner at the moment, as I have a few other stories to tell first,” she wrote on her website.
Fifty Shades of Grey books are still being talked about, and sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. It was also the best selling e-book of 2012.
It is mainly still a hot topic of discussion because of the anticipation for the movie version, which is to be released in the next couple of years.
Not much is known about the film.
“We don’t even have a filmmaker, so we are still a long way away from casting. I have some ideas, but it may not be who people expect,” James said.
While they have not cast any actors in the film, Fifty Shades fans have been offering some suggestions. One rumored actor to be in the running is Alexander Skarsgard, as the Hollywood Reporter said he may be auditioning for the role.
Though the film doesn’t have much set in stone, they do have a writer. Kelly Marcel, a little-known British writer, is set to write the script.
In the meantime, to satiate the BSDM thirst of Fifty Shades fans, Barnes and Noble has created a list of e-books to download. The list includes The Sweet Series by Maya Banks, which includes “a different hero and heroine as well as a different approach to sex ranging from BSDM to menage,” as well as Tara Sue Me’s Submissive Trilogy, which follows a story similar to Ana Steele and Christian Grey’s.
