Elisabeth Hasselbeck is not happy that Rosie O'Donnell, her former co-host on "The View," may be returning to the ABC-TV daytime show.
While they were on "The View" together Hasselbeck and O'Donnell had a memorable on-air fight about the Iraq War in 2007 (video below).
Hasselbeck, who is on vacation, called into "Fox & Friends," the Fox News show that she now co-hosts, and ripped O'Donnell, who may be returning to the show, reported TMZ.
Hasselbeck claimed that O’Donnell started taking over "The View" on Barbara Walters’ farewell show, noted Mediaite.com.
“I’ll go back to the reunion show for Barbara,” Hasselbeck said. “How odd is this, when you have the woman who insinuated that our own troops were terrorists in Iraq at the time, then left the show while still at the end of her contract, to have such ease the day of Barbara’s good-bye show was shocking to me. She walked around with a lot of control.”
“When I had the chance to talk to her, Rosie herself told me, on set, while we were miked up, that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea,” Hasselbeck added. “Would you think that the woman who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara’s good-bye show? Here’s the shocker, it was actually her hello show.”
“Anybody who’s going to be in that seat, if indeed it’s all going to play out as I think it will or already has, will have to be approved by Rosie," claimed Hasselbeck.
"Let’s not forget Whoopi Goldberg is sitting there and Whoopi is not going to let anyone control her… She has actually more trophies than Rosie... she’s the leader on that show. I’m going to be very interested to see how that goes.”
