Eddie Fisher, the singer, entertainer and TV star, has died. He was 82.
His daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher of Los Angeles, told The Associated Press that Fisher died of complications from hip surgery at a Berkeley, California hospital.
“Late last evening the world lost a true American icon,” a statement said. “One of the greatest voices of the century passed away. He was an extraordinary talent and a true mensch.”
Fisher was once married to Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds and Connie Stevens.
He was also father to actresses Carrie and Joely Fisher.
