Earlier today at the E3 Ubisoft press conference, producer Dan Hay was on stage to present a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming open world, first person shooter Far Cry 3, the third entry into the Far Cry franchise.
After a quick intro to the game, the trailer began and featured some amazing graphical prowess as a beautiful woman was shown enticing the main character, Jason Brody, into action. The setting quickly shifted and the real action of the game began after a quick knife kill be the beach. After storming the stronghold belonging to Vaas, gameplay shows hectic firefights and multiple explosion as Jason makes his way towards a confrontation with Vaas – a confrontation that ends with Jason being stabbed in the chest. After some kind of visual hallucination, the trailer ends…
Back to the stage, Hay answers a question that was posted on the Far Cry 3 Facebook page which ask just how much freedom players would have in Fra Cry 3 to which he responds that there would be an archipelago of numerous islands for players to explore. Another trailer goes up and shows just how much the player can do in the game before reverting back to showing more shooting gameplay. And the demonstration ends.
For shooter fans, the Far Cry series has been one of the most positively accepted shooters, highly praised for its graphical capabilities as well as its solid storytelling and gameplay. Far Cry 3 is set to hit store shelves on September 4, 2012 for Windows, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
