Director Michael Bay introduced Samsung’s new 150-inch curved TV set at the Consumer Electronics Show on Monday, but stopped midway through his lines and walked off stage after he became flustered.
"My job as a director is that I get to dream for a living," Bay began.
Bay mentioned problems with his autocue following his first line, then said he would wing the rest of his dialogue. However, after a moment of silence, the Transformers director muttered an “I’m sorry” and walked off stage instead.
Samsung executive Joe Stinziano, EVP of Samsung America, took the stage and was forced to ad lib the remaining portion of the segment.
“I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP’s intro line and then the teleprompter got lost,” Bay later wrote on his blog. “I guess live shows aren’t my thing.”
Bay added that he rarely lent his name to products, but that Samsung’ Curved 105-inch UHD TV was worth the mention.
He also mentioned his embaressment in choking at Samsung's biggest marketing event of the year.
