Courtney Love may be evicted from her New York townhouse rental after painting the walls and setting it on fire!
The singer was renting a townhouse for $27,000 per month on West 10th Street for almost a year, but owner Donna Lyon has gone to court claiming she is due $54,000 in rent and that Love has altered its interior design by painting over hand finished walls.
Donna, who purchased the $8 million property last year, claims the lease agreement calls for no change to be made to the interior, and was horrified to see “ice-blue” paint and “damask wallpaper” was put up.
The property owner stated, “It was decorated by the previous owner, interior designer Steven Gambrel. One of the requirements of the lease is that nothing should be done to the interiors.
“Courtney has wallpapered and painted a large portion of the property without my consent. I learned about this when I wanted to sell the house and had photographs taken. They sent me the brochure and I said, ‘This can’t be my property.’
“I came to New York to see it and I was horrified by what she had done. The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint.”
Courtney also set fire to curtain in the master bedroom.
A court date has been set for December 21.
