Carrie Underwood Wears $31 Million in Diamonds to 2013 Grammys (Photos)

Expensive clothing and jewelry was not hard to find at the 2013 Grammy Awards Sunday night, but Carrie Underwood easily took home the award for most expensive item of jewelry.

The necklace Underwood wore cost $31 million and was designed by Johnathon Arndt. It featured 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise, and round white diamonds. She complimented the necklace with an embroidered black strapless gown from Roberto Cavalli, according to People magazine.

The crowd got a good look at the big money necklace when Underwood took the stage to claim her Grammy for the best country solo performance for her hit song “Blown Away.” She was nominated for two Grammy’s overall, as “Blown Away” songwriters Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins won the Grammy for best country song.

Yahoo! News reported Underwood calling the necklace “381 carats of gorgeousness.” While speaking on the red carpet Underwood said, “It’s heavy on my soul. I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it…It’s worth more than me,” according to the Inquisitr.

Underwood also added that the necklace “is worth more than me, and everything I have, and have ever had and ever will have.”

It’s safe to say that not many people will ever wear a $31 million piece of jewelry ever in their lifetime, so it’s a good thing she had a bodyguard with her protecting both her and it.
