The drug case against T.I. that caused him to get sent back to federal prison has been dropped by the L.A. County District Attorney.
Rapper T.I. was sentenced recently to 11 months in a federal prison after being stopped by police for making an illegal U-turn in Los Angeles.
The arrest, and the rapper’s failed drug test the following day, resulted in a federal judge in Georgia ordering T.I. to serve 11 months for violating his probation.
T.I., 29, has to turn himself in next week to begin serving his jail sentence.
T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle’s arrest on September 1st stemmed from being pulled over for an illegal U-turn, and police said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. T.I. and “Tiny” were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and released from jail on $10,000 bail early the next day.
Police didn’t have any evidence booked for the marijuana, and had the rapper step out of his Maybach before asking for identification. Basically it seems they feel his rights were violated, so he’s off the hook!
