Blazing Hot Trickett Makes WPT Paris Final

After a win in the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge and a runner-up finish to legend Erik Seidel in the series' $250k Super High Roller last month, Trickett has made the final table of the WPT National Series at Paris.

Winning the PartyPoker World Open VI and making two WSOP and an EPT final table on the way to collecting $1,071,356 in tournament earnings made 2010 Trickett's best year as a pro.

But with $2,892,889 earned in just the first six weeks of 2011, the Titan Poker pro has already laid that to waste.

The €5,000 WPT National Series Paris drew 188 players to the Aviation Club De Paris last week.

The field played down to 10 after three days this weekend with Trickett sitting second in chips.

However, when they returned for a fourth day to eliminate two players and set the final table of eight, it was a nightmare for the Londoner.

Over just 90-minutes of play, Trickett managed to double up three opponents.

He held on to make the final eight and although he now sits seventh in chips, based on the year he's having, he still may be the favorite to win it.

A €243,830 first-place prize will be up for grabs in Paris Monday.

Here's how the final eight stack up:

1 Benjamin Pollak 1,251,000

2 Ingo Paulus 832,000

3 Tobias Wagner 748,000

4 Natalia Nikitina 688,000

5 Jean-Louis Tepper 470,000

6 Alexandre Brivot 203,000

7 Sam Trickett 191,000

8 Nicolo Calia 176,000
