Here’s your first official look at Ashton Kutcher as Apple founder and one of the greatest entrepreneurs and “outside-the-box” thinkers of our age, Steve Jobs. The late Mr. Jobs is the subject of not one, but two upcoming biopics. It was recently announced that jOBS, which stars Kutcher and which is the first of those (with no involvement from Apple), will have its world premiere next month as the Closing Night Film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festiva on January 25.
“The true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history, jOBS chronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. jOBS is a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently.”
Directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) with a script by first time screenwriter Matt Whitely, the film also stars Josh Gad, Dermot Mulroney, James Woods, Lukas Haas, Matthew Modine, Ron Eldard, Lesley Ann Warren, Ahna O’Reilly and J.K. Simmons. Other than Sundance, we don’t have any firm US dates. It has confirmed dates in a handful of European countries next Spring/Summer, so hopefully we’ll see it here soon.
